has the pleasure of inviting to piano master classes with


Dates:       2-5  June, 2016

Location: Reksten Collections, Bergen, Norway

The legendary Finnish piano guro, Liisa Pohjola has been invited to give master classes with one of Norways’s leading international pianists, Håvard Gimse at this utterly rare master class at Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy.


The classes will be open for students and young established pianists in the beginning of their careers. Limitation of participants is 5.

The participants will receive 4 classes each of approx. 60 minutes duration. The classes starts in the morning of 2 June and ends in the afternoon the 5 June.

NB! It is important that the participants are in place at the Reksten Collections throughout the whole course period.


The students are expected to bring their own music for the course.


The teaching is timetabled in the main hall Pentagon at the Reksten Collections and will be open to public audience.


There will be arranged one public concert with the participants at the Reksten Collections.


Accommodation is offered at the Reksten Collections at the price of NOK 250,- per person in double rooms with 2 single beds and bathroom.


Breakfast and lunch are based on self catering in our kitchen, which is fully equipped. (There are  grocery stores nearby, approximately 5 minutes to walk).  Dinners are included in the participation fee and will be provided by the academy. 


At the Reksten Collections you are free to practice in various rooms and on 11 good quality pianos and grand pianos.


Participants will be granted a festival pass which gives free entrance to certain concerts and events during the Bergen International Festival

Fees and application

Participation fee:

NOK 2000,-

To be submitted upon receipt of invoice and one week after acceptance of participation.

The fee includes tuition and 2 dinners (welcome and farewell dinner).

The application has to be enclosed the following information

1) CV

2) Repertory/program

3) Links to a video of 10-15 minutes duration, containing 2 pieces. (To be posted on You Tube, Sondcloud etc. or sent by a file sending service or as a DVD by ordinary mail).

Application deadline: 15 April, 2016

By the latest of  1 May, 2016, applicants will be informed if they have been accepted for the master class.
