About the master classes
We are delighted to welcome the two internationally highly acclaimed pianists and professors, Eldar Nebolsin and Leif Ove Andsnes to give master classes at the Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy this autumn. The master classes will be shared between the two of them with 4 days each, starting with Prof. Leif Ove Andsnes from 11 until 14 October and continuing with Prof. Eldar Nebolsin from 15 until 18 October.
Participants
The classes will be open for students and young established pianists in the beginning of their careers. Limitation of participants is 10 and applicants are encouraged to take part during the whole period of 8 days. However we will, by agreement, consider to approve participants for a shorter period of time.
The participants will receive 4 classes each of approx 60 minutes duration.
Repertory
The students are expected to bring their own music for the course.
Classes
The teaching is timetabled in the main hall Pentagon at the Reksten Collections and in the concert hall Troldsalen at the Edvard Grieg Museum. The classes will be open to public audience.
Concerts
There will be arranged two public concerts in the concert hall of Edvard Grieg Museum and one in the region of Bergen. In addition there will be one concert for the Senior University at the Reksten Collections.
Accommodation
Accommodation is offered at the Reksten Collections at the price of NOK 250,- per person in double rooms with 2 single beds and bathroom.
Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are based on self catering in our kitchen, which is fully equipped. (There is a grocery store nearby, approximately 5 minutes to walk).
Practising
At the Reksten Collections you are free to practice on 10 good quality pianos and grand pianos. The Steinway is reserved for tuition and concerts.
Fees and application
Participation fee: NOK 4000,-
To be submitted within one week after acceptance of participation
The fee includes tuition and 2 dinners (welcome and farewell dinner).
Application deadline: 15 August, 2015 (new date)
By the latest of 25 August, applicants will be informed if they have been accepted for the master class.
Others
During the master class there will be arranged a visit to the Grieg Collection at the Bergen Public Library and a guided tour through Edvard Grieg Museum.
