Theme: Beethoven piano sonatas

Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy in collaboration with Bergen International Festival, the Barony Rosendal and the University of Bergen

has the pleasure of inviting to piano master classes with some of the world’s foremost pianists of today:

Richard Goode (USA), Jan Jiracek von Arnim (DE) and Leif Ove Andsnes (NO)

Dates: 22-26 May, 2017

Location: Reksten Collections, Bergen, Norway and the Barony Rosendal

About

The classes are open for students and young established pianists in the beginning of their careers, at the highest level.

The participants will receive at least 4 classes each of approx. 60 minutes duration. The classes starts in the morning of 22 May and ends with a closing concert in the evening of the 26 May.

Limitation of participants is 6.

Repertory

Please bring one or two of Beethoven’s piano sonatas.

Classes

The teaching is timetabled in the main hall, Pentagon at the Reksten Collections and on Wednesday, 24th in the Riddersal at the Barony Rosendal. All master classes will be open to public audience.

Concerts

There will be arranged two public concerts with the participants,  one in the Riddersal at the Barony Rosendal and one in the University Aula in Bergen city center.

Accommodation

Accommodation is offered at the Reksten Collections and the Barony Rosendal (one night, between 24 and 25 May) and is included in the participation fee.

Meals

Breakfast and lunch are based on self catering in our kitchen, which is fully equipped. Dinners are included in the participation fee and will be provided by the academy. 

Practising

At the Reksten Collections you are free to practice in various rooms and on 11 good quality pianos and grand pianos.

Fees and application

Participation fee:

NOK 3000,- (inclusive accommodation and dinners)

To be submitted upon receipt of invoice and one week after acceptance of participation.

The application has to be enclosed the following information:

1) Application form (to be downloaded underneath)

2) CV

3) Repertory/program

4) Links to a video of 10-15 minutes duration, containing 2 pieces. (To be posted on You Tube, Sondcloud etc. or sent by a file sending service or as a DVD by ordinary mail).

Application deadline:   10 April, 2017

Within the 24 April, applicants will be informed if they have been accepted for the master class.
