Master classes with Shirinyan, Andsnes and Gimse, 3-7 June, 2018

Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy has the pleasure of inviting to piano master classes with,

Marianna Shirinyan, Leif Ove Andsnes and Håvard Gimse

Dates: 3-7 June, 2018

Location: Reksten Collections, Bergen, Norway

The master classes and concerts will be arranged in collaboration with Bergen International Festival and the festival, Hardingtonar in the region of Bergen.

About

The classes are open for students and young established pianists at the highest level.

The participants will receive at least 4 classes each of approx. 45 minutes duration. The classes start in the morning of 3 June and ends in the evening of the 7 June.

Limitation of participants is 6. In addition the 2 members of our talent program for young Norwegian pianists will be invited to take part.

Repertory

The students are expected to bring their own printed sheet music for the course, whereof we encourage to bring one piece that is inspired by folk music. The repertory should be ready for performance.

Classes

The teaching is timetabled in the main hall, Pentagon, at the Reksten Collections. The participants are encouraged to attend their fellow students’ individual lessons, in order to learn through listening and observing. All master classes will be open to public audience.

Lectures

The pianist Geir Botnen, member of Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy’s artistic committee, and one of Norway’s foremost performers of the Hardanger fiddle, Knut Hamre,  will be giving a lecture about Norwegian folk with the following title: Meeting with Hardanger and the folk music.

Concerts

There will be arranged two public concerts with the participants. One at the Reksten Collections, in collaboration with the Bergen International Festival and one in Øystese in the region of Bergen, in collaboration with the festival Hardingtonar.

Accommodation

Accommodation is offered at the Reksten Collections and is included in the participation fee.

Meals

Breakfast is based on self catering in our kitchen, which is fully equipped. We provide breakfast ingredients. Lunch and dinner are included in the participation fee and will be provided by the academy. 

Practising

At the Reksten Collections you are free to practice in various rooms and on 11 good quality pianos and grand pianos.

Fees and application

Participation fee:

NOK 3000,- (inclusive accommodation, lunch and dinners)

To be submitted upon receipt of invoice and one week after acceptance of participation.

The application has to be enclosed the following information:

1) Application form (electronical application form to be found underneath)

2) CV

3) Repertory/program

4) Links to a video of 10-15 minutes duration, containing 2 pieces. (To be posted on You Tube, SoundCloud etc. or sent by a file sending service or as a DVD by ordinary mail).

Application deadline: 15 April, 2018

Within the 1 May, 2018 the applicants will be informed if they have been accepted for the master class.
